How Does Ductless Zone Heating and Air Conditioning Work?
Zoning your heating and cooling with a Mitsubishi Brand ductless HVAC product works similarly to traditional heating and cooling in-that you will have a main outdoor unit that will power the entire system. The difference is that instead of using ductwork to move the treated air to vents and rooms, Mitsubishi ductless systems simply run two lines (small, thin pipelines) that carry refrigerant to individual air handlers in the various rooms that you want heated or cooled. The air handler then takes the refrigerant and acts as a sort of mini-HVAC system right there in the room, created heated or cooled air directly at the source. This is much more efficient a process than with traditional systems as much of the heated and cooled air is lost as it is traveling through ductwork. This makes ductless HVAC systems much more efficient solutions than a traditional system with leaky ductwork.
Benefits of a Mitsubishi Ductless HVAC System
While we have already spoken to the added energy efficiency of Mistubishi’s ductless systems, another added benefit is the able to have independent zoning of rooms throughout your home. With separate air handlers placed in rooms throughout the house, you can heat and cool those rooms specifically to your liking. Unlike traditional systems where you would have to shut vents to close off a room from getting treated air, ductless systems allow every room to be controlled independently. What this means is you can heat one room to 90 degrees, and the room right next door, you can use air conditioning and cool the room below 70 degrees. Additionally, if you were to shut vents and close rooms off with a traditional HVAC system, the system is still working at full capacity, trying to heat and cool the entire house still; this leads to extra energy used, efficiency lost, and over time this overworking of the system will cause damage and wear.
Mitsubishi Enhanced Filtration System
The benefits of Mitsubishi ductless heating and air conditioning systems extend even further when you take into account the enhanced filtration system of the ductless products. In a traditional heating and cooling system, you usually only have a single filter on the intake of the main HVAC unit. With Mitsubishi systems acting independently in their specific zones, they are also filtering the air with every unit, filtering multiple locations around the home; this results in cleaner air circulating around the home.
