Fall in San Jacinto

Fall in San Jacinto

Whether this is your first or your twentieth fall in the San Jacinto valley, we think you’ll agree that the area has a variety of fun and exciting things to do during the season. Now that fall is finally here, check out a few reasons why we love San Jacinto in fall:

Fabulous Fall Weather

One of the greatest things about fall in San Jacinto is the weather. The skies stay relatively sunny through October with a chance for warmer temperatures, and things finally cool down a bit in November and December. This comfortable and typically moderate climate makes the fall season great for both indoor and outdoor activities, depending on what you prefer.

Fun Farmer’s Markets

Fall is the season for farmer’s markets! Every Saturday, the Hemet Farmers Market takes place at Harvard Street from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the perfect time to pick up all of your favorite foods and goods from local vendors including fresh produce, flowers, eggs, plants, nuts, honey, olive oil, hand-made soap, fresh baked desserts, and more.

Museums Galore

On hot and sunny days when you want to take a break indoors, you can take advantage of the area’s great museums. Visit the Western Science Center to see a variety of Native American artifacts and Ice Age fossils found at Diamond Valley Lake. This the perfect family activity when you’d like to spend a fall day inside. If you are interested in learning more about the history and culture of San Jacinto, stop in the Estudillo Mansion to learn more about the city’s early inhabitants.

Stunning Natural Beauty

Fall is also a great time to check out the natural spaces in Hemet and San Jacinto. For a beautiful view, pack a picnic lunch and head to Simpson Park. You can also take a hike around Diamond Valley Lake or enjoy fun in the water at the Diamond Valley Aquatic Center located near the entrance to the lake. In early fall when the weather is most moderate, you and your family can also plan a camping trip at the Stone Creek Campground at Mt. San Jacinto State Park.

Though you may wish that fall would last forever, winter is right around the corner. Fall is the perfect time to test your heater and make sure it is running efficiently before winter arrives.
